Greetings!
We are super excited for the next Cues & Tattoos Festival in Seattle April 3-5 2009 and we'd love to hear your feedback and ideas.
Here are some details so far;
Workshops and vending will be held at the TPS studios in the Seattle Center on Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm.
A Theater show and wine reception will be held Saturday night at the Mohai Museum of history and industry.
Confirmed Instructors:
Carolena Nericcio of FCBD
Megha of Deyvani
Unmata
Read My Hips
Troupe Hipnotica
and more to come...
So our questions to you are:
Who else do you want to see instruct?
What do really want to learn?
Would you want vending all day Saturday and Sunday- or just Saturday?
Anything else?
Feel free to respond here or to me personally at hipnotica@comcast.net
Thank You!!!

Re: Cues & Tattoos Feedback
Wed, September 17, 2008 - 11:31 PMHi Adriene!
I plan on vending and would love to vend both days. From my vending perspective it's better all the way around (schlepping, hauling, set up, take down, etc.) to vend multiple days, especially if there's a way to set up and take down only once. Is there overnight security?
From a shopper's perspective, two days of vending would give shoppers more options and more relaxed shopping with something to do during down time and lunch breaks, etc. Some participants may also only come one day and if that day happens to be the day there is no vending then they lose that shopping option.
I'm happy to help with any vending questions or queries you have. Please don't hesitate to ask.
I'm also really excited that I'll be able to see the show this year! Thank you for that! -

Re: Cues & Tattoos Feedback
Mon, September 22, 2008 - 9:23 PMI agree, shopping is much funner when you can feel free to peruse the items and then come back to them later once you know what you want, and one day is just never enough to time to get shopping done when it comes to belly dancing gear, i think thats a law of physics or something.

Martina of Bellyfringe Bellydance in Vancouver B.C. is a fantastic teacher of isolations, layering and gooey pop moves!
Her workshops are amazing! -

Re: Cues & Tattoos Feedback
Fri, November 14, 2008 - 10:35 AMI didn't think Martina did group improv any more. I thought she was tribal fusion only? But maybe that is only what I have seen her do, and she is mixing it up group improv tribal style when I don't see her! LOL -

Tue, November 18, 2008 - 11:24 PMyep yep its true...
I do mostly Tribal Fusion...but when I solo, I always improv the pieces I use. Which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I do not teach improv tribal style at all, I'm in no way qualified.....but sometimes with my troupe we work with improv. But have not gotten to the point of performing group improv yet., but working on it!
I still really enjoy taking group improv workshops and classes, because I feel it helps my dance skills alot!
I have had the pleasure to have co-hosted with Tonje Olson, Carolena in Vancouver. Which was a huge sucess...and we look forward to bringing her back to Canada in 2010.
so as allows dance helps me expand and grows in ways I never imagined...and I allows love that challenge and growth!
Thanks Steph for the kind words!
Most def we have some tallented ATS teachers here in Vancouver as well....Tonje Olson of BellyBellyhip..and Lava is working with and teaching group improv here in Vancouver as well....
we have a lovely up and coming group called Floreo that is doing group improv...hopefully they will be able to make down to Seattle as well.
Looking forward to coming to this event.....had a blast last year...and I'm sure its gonna be great this year!!!
